Nobody can be hypnotised if they do not want to be. It's a decision and a choice that you make to follow the therapist's instructions and suggestions and by doing so enter into a therapeutic trance.
If there is a will, then anybody can be hypnotised.
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a deeply relaxed state of focussed attention and inner absorption. Everybody has experienced a natural trance before, such as been so engrossed in a book or T.V show that you become unaware of what's going on around you, perhaps even failing to hear someone talk to you or call you - completely in your own little world of absorption. Well this is very similar to the therapeutic trance of hypnosis, but the hypnotherapist induces the trance by focussing your attention and guides you into inner absorption. You become deeply relaxed, slowing down your brainwave pattern and the hypnotherapist then uses this state of absorption to facilitate inner change.
